New employees required extensive training to complete basic tasks, while experienced users had developed workarounds that couldn't be scaled and were not documented.

Broke the existing process down to a stepwise visualization of the end-to-end workflow; identified redundancies and highlighted unnecessary complexities.

Catalogued all current UI components and states to understand the scope of the necessary design elements.

Identified two primary user groups: document creators and document approvers, each with distinct needs and workflows.

Research

Led a whiteboarding session to brainstorm potential workflows using affinity mapping.

Interviewed users across experience levels to surface pain points and validate assumptions about the current process.

Visualized the proposed user journey with a clean wireframe modeled on a git-style branching process.
